It strikes me funny how "brave" people can be when behind a computer. However, what I am about to say must not be mistaken as me trying to be "brave" and "opinionated" due to the fact that you will probably never see my face or know where I live. Yet, I feel that the American people (politicians especially) need to be "straight up" in there beliefs and their politics. Therefore, I will speak for Colin Powell since he didn't have the guts to say what he really meant. Let's be honest here, Powell DID NOT endorse Obama because of his message of "change" and the promise that he (Obama) made to change the world as we know it. He DID NOT endorse Obama because he has a better plan of attack in the war on terror. He DID NOT endorse Obama because he is excited of the thought of being "patriotic" in paying more taxes. These things are further from the truth! Powell endorsed Obama because this is the most historical election in American history with the chance of putting the first ever African-American in the Oval Office. This is truly a racial issue. For as long as Powell has been in politics and involved in the Bush Administration, Obama and his politics and philosophy are the complete opposite of Powell's political beliefs. Complete night and day! Therefore, his endorsement is completely because of race and not politics (Again, not trying to be brave behind a computer). I have several African-American friends that are Christian and Conservative, yet their vote is for Obama for the mere fact that history can be made! If I wanted so badly that history be made, as a Latino I would have voted for Bill Richardson because he has some Hispanic blood in him! Look folks, let's not be ignorant. This should not be about race and culture, but about integrity, character and what is best for Americans (black, brown, white)! Dr. Martin Luther King said it best in his infamous 'I Have A Dream' speech: "I have a dream, that one day my children would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.." If you are voting because of race (on either side), let's be wiser than that. Skin color does not define character and integrity! Associations with unrepentant terrorists, radical clergymen and deceiving organizations are the issues of character and integrity! America does not need to vote in order to make history, America needs to vote for who is of good character or else America will be history!
